Ack.

That's for all you Bill The Cat fans out there.

It also sums up my day/week/month so far.

Not only am I trying to do the work of three people, but I've been told to train the new person too.

Riiiiight.

People in my department give me a worried look whenever I leave the building for lunch. Like they are afraid I won't come back.

Not that that idea doesn't have merit, but ...

I really do try to leave a place a little better than when I arrived. Silly me.

Argh.

Ideas for training the new person during a hectic week:

Make coffee.
Fetch chocolate.
Believably tell others you are "not available" to cover when you decide to take a loooong lunch.
Basic First Aid for when you finally crack and jam a pencil into someone's eye socket.

Btuda, even in misery you are funny!

I can't believe you're not overjoyed at doing the work of 3 while training the new person. What, you're not Wonder Woman? Huh.
Take a breath now and then, and remember to buy a few Sparkling Grapefruit candles for the boss(es)and deliver them with a smile. Heh.

Well, if you're doing three jobs, that means you get paid three salaries, right?
Whaddya mean, no? Geeeeez.
Okay, this calls for a special effort. If you can't slip out for an hour to visualize yourself on a pure white beach, lounging next to calm turquoise waters and having your neck deftly massaged by Guido, well... we'll just have to ensure that he makes house calls.

vdfrxdw - really, Btuda, should you be using language like that? Oh. You should. Okay, just checking.

Check your emails, woman. I need your snail mail address. I have a present for you from Dayton. Thank Bob we didn't show up in Lafayette like we planned to surprise you. If you email me, I'll tell you the elaborate scheme and why it went south - literally.

Well I don't know that it was an elaborate scheme. But it was a scheme nonetheless. We're very scheme-y.

Sheryl, I am such an idiot. I just now remembered that I still have your cell number from Bloomington. I COULD HAVE CALLED IN FOR THE PARTY!

Ugh.

Then because I couldn't stand town anymore, DH and I took off for my folk's house in TN for the weekend. Mom was impressed that the CBs were named in the acknowledgement of Agnes.

Dying to hear the details. Can't wait.

Duh. It just took me four tries to comment on my own post.

And yes, I know I need a new post. But as Mom always says, "Say something nice, or sit down and shut up."

Now I feel like an idiot. I have your cell number from Bloomington. We could have called You. Told that story a time or two in Dayton. Missed you terribly.
